When I became general manager of my father's small construction business in May 2007, I reorganized the company and brought it up to date on technology. With those changes I prepared and oversaw the growth of my father's small business during 2007-2009 from 8 employees (full time and part time) to 35 full time employees, including the start of a sister company to handle the workload we were getting in different areas of Southern California. From 2010 to 2012, we are now 5 employees (mostly part time) and our sister company is no more. Our small business is family-owned and operated. Many of relatives that worked here are either without work or struggling to make ends meet with the little work they have.
Without writing an essay or a book about what caused the economic death spiral (goes back to 1993), the government housing and lending policies in place coupled with the complacency of large financial institutions led to the market crash that plunged us into the Great Recession/Depression. The Obama Administration promised to reign in spending, give the Middle Class tax cuts, and cut the deficit in half. The opposite happened. The Obama Administration outspent the entire Bush Administration in less than 4 years, increased our already bloated deficit, and indebted every American both living and soon to be born.
America cannot afford another Obama term. That is why I am officially endorsing Mitt Romney for President of the United States. He brings a business perspective sorely needed in Washington. The Federal Government is the largest corporation in the world, and its currently run by lawyers. Its time for a business man with political office experience. I am not Romney's biggest fan. I have many issues with him, but I can put aside our differences and vote for someone with America's best interest at heart!
