REPOST: In Defense of Christmas

ORIGINAL POST DATE: 12/23/16

The War on Christmas.

Those of us in the faith know what I am referring to when it comes to the Assault on Christmas. For a long time, we have seen Christmas go from a time honored tradition here in America, to the largest commercial machine powered by greed, want, and a false sense of necessity.

Then the entire institution come under attack outside of the corporate world by the atheists and liberals that oppose Christianity. News in recent years includes the city-wide banning of Christmas (Santa Monica), the cancellation/alteration of a school event that was going to show A Charlie Brown Christmas (here and here), and most particularly the removal of the word Christmas altogether in favor of something more “accepting and less offensive”: holiday.

Nowadays, it’s offensive to wish someone a merry Christmas, a holiday meant to be a symbol of joy, hope, good cheer, and giving, but it is in no way offensive to wish someone a Happy Halloween – a holiday rooted in the demonic, satanic, violent and fear.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Rather than yell at the same Christmas Scrooge every year, in this article I call out those that should know better. I’m talking about the growing movement within the Protestant Church to also ban Christmas.

Yes, Christians refusing to acknowledge and, much less, celebrate Christmas.

Why?

OPINION: Re-Definitions

DISCLAIMER: I’ve said it on many occasions, and I will reiterate it for new and old readers alike: I support traditional marriage. I am opposed to the militant gay activism that intends to instill and install their immoral behavior studies in our schools to re-educate children. I am not, however, anti-gay in the sense that I hate them for their lifestyle choice. In the end, they chose that lifestyle. I do not like it or accept it, but I do not condemn them for it. God hates the sin and loves the sinner. As a practicing Christian, I have to learn to abide by His commandments. So it is with that mindset that I write my opinion pieces.

The above video of Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart’s response to opponents of same-sex marriage summarizes in part the hostility of the those on the left against those on the right. To those like Jon Stewart (a faux news satirist), it does not matter how the Supreme Court came to its decision. What matters is that those of his viewpoint got their way. In the 8-minute video he goes the length mocking and criticizing the concerns of conservatives regarding the slippery slope of redefining marriage. This video showcases the standings and attitudes of those on the left against those on the right.

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” –Isaiah 5:20 NIV

In The Name Of Love

When I first heard the conservative argument that redefining marriage to allow same-sex marriage could open the door to allowing other forms of unnatural relationships, I balked at the weakness of the argument. Then I heard what certain gay rights activists had to say. Now I know that marriage is most certainly open to any interpretation that will turn it into a literal farce.

Marriage, by actual definition, is the legally or formally recognized union of a man and a woman as partners in a relationship. It establishes rights and obligations between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws.

OPINION: Inequality Won

Last week, proponents of same-sex marriage proclaimed “equality” and “love” were victorious with the Supreme Court ruling in their favor on landmark cases. The behavior of many on social media and the press was that of jubilee and exaltation. If you been living under a rock the past ten years and crawled out of it to read/see/hear news of the Supreme Court ruling, you would think that love did not exist in this country before that.
Therein lies an inherent problem I’ve talked about since the early millennia: the lost meaning of words. More on this some other time.
With the ruling, supposedly we are closer to all being equal than ever before. This is not true, was not true before, and will never be true. Simple response is The Balance of the Universe or the Law of Compensation: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If someone takes something, someone is giving that something up.

How did we get here?

The religions of this country – mainly Christian, Catholic, and Jewish – had to either loosen their orthodox beliefs on deeply held traditions, be denied certain liberties that were the reason this country was created, or be discriminated for refusing to accept changes in society and public opinion. The answer though can be condensed even further: America turned away from God. This is important to understand because as much as the secularists try to hide it, there is no denying the fact that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. No other country with the exception of Israel has ever been dedicated to God before or since. For the “Christian” America to now be far away from righteousness and proudly shunning God is a sign of dangerous times.

WAR ON CHRISTIANITY: Gay Rights Group Petitions Against Chick-Fil-A, Plans ‘Kiss-In’ « CBS Chicago

REPORT: The gay rights group Equality Illinois is launching a campaign against Chick-Fil-A – petitioning universities and lawmakers to evict the fast food restaurant from their campuses and planning a "kiss-in" campaign by gay and lesbian couples outside Chick-Fil-A restaurants.

The campaign by the group comes just after Ald. Proco "Joe" Moreno (1st) announced that her plans to block efforts by Chick-Fil-A to open a second Chicago restaurant, because the company's president vocally opposes same-sex marriage.

The campaign by Equality Illinois, dubbed "Flick-the-Hate," urges people to sign a petition geared toward universities and malls that host Chick-Fil-A restaurants.

WAR ON CHRISTIANITY: Roseanne Barr Wishes Cancer on Chick-Fil-A Customers | NewsBusters.org

REPORT: ABC's The View recently honored Roseanne Barr with a guest-host spot, which shows they probably aren't in the habit of evaluating her sanity based on her Twitter rants. Take her wishing cancer on Chick-Fil-A fans this morning: "anyone who eats S--t Fil-A deserves to get the cancer that is sure to come from eating antibiotic filled tortured chickens 4Christ".

This came after she told the restaurant chain to suck an appendage she doesn't have: "Suck my dick chick filet- nazi chicken f---ing pricks"

This outbreak of hate was retweeted by comedian Joe Rogan, who recently hosted a newfangled version of "Fear Factor" on NBC.

WAR ON CHRISTIANITY: Huffington Post Mangles Bible to Bash Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A is a Christian company. Go eat your Atheist chicken sandwich somewhere else if you don't like it!
-Andres

REPORT: The media crusade against Christian company Chick-fil-A for upholding Christian values and support companies favoring traditional marriage has reached new depths of insanity. In a satire piece blasting Chick-fil-A, Huffington Post contributor Domenick Scudera used his biblical ignorance to bash the Christian restaurant.

Scudera lambasted the Christian firm in a July 19 article snidely titled “Did Jesus Eat Chick-fil-A at the Last Supper?” His beef with Chick-fil-A: that the owner, Dan Cathy, stated that his “restaurant is based on biblical principles.”

Scudera began his piece by mockingly proclaiming: “There is no reason to go to church anymore. I can get my dose of religion and values by driving through my local Chick-fil-A!” He then targeted the company for daring to profess its Christianity: “The next time I order myself up a Spicy Chicken Sandwich Deluxe and those yummy Waffle Potato Fries, I hope my server will share some biblical wisdom with me. I'll have a side order of Deuteronomy, please!”

Scudera ignored the fact that Christianity is not merely doctrine – it is a way of life. Christian owners will not force their religion on their workers and customers, but they will express Christian values in their company policies.
