Officials suspected Rudy Eugene, the man who chewed off the face of his victim in S. Beach, did so while high on bath salt. The medical examiner revealed today the suspect was NOT high on bath salts. So what drove him to eat his victim unless he was a, GULP!, a zombie!

REPORT: Rudy Eugene, the Causeway Cannibal who ate the face off a homeless man he attacked along the MacArthur Causeway, was apparently not high on bath salts or any other exotic street drug at the time of the attack, according to a report released Wednesday by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner.
The news leaves law enforcement officials wondering what drove Eugene to strip off his clothes, attack homeless man Ronald Poppo, and chew off pieces of flesh from Poppo’s face.
Speculation about the cause of Eugene’s rampage on Poppo’s face centered on drugs, specifically bath salts, after police union officials claimed an increase in bizarre behavior among people on the street using such drugs.
The much-anticipated toxicology report released by Miami-Dade Medical Examiner Dr. Bruce Hyma found marijuana in Eugene’s system, something CBS4 News had previously reported, but no evidence of any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs, or any adulterants found in street drugs.

ZOMBIE? Man eats family dog after police say he ingested synthetic drug K-2
REPORT: Police in Waco arrested 22-year-old Michael Daniel Monday after they say he ate a dog.
Family members called police on June 14th, saying Daniel assaulted people at the home, chased a neighbor and started barking and growling.
What happened next is horrific.
Witnesses say Daniel grabbed the family dog, beat and strangled it...then started to eat it.
The dog died at the home.
Daniel is believed to have been on a bad trip from ingesting "K-2," a synthetic drug.
He was taken to the hospital and now faces a felony charge for animal cruelty."

THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS EMINENT: Man Bit Off Large Chunk Of Victim's Face | The Smoking Gun
REPORT: From the Zombie Apocalypse news desk comes word of the arrest of a Louisiana man who bit off a chunk of the face of a victim whom he allegedly battered during a bloody attack Saturday.
According to cops, Carl Jacquneaux, 42, attacked Todd Credeur outside the victim’s home in Scott, a city in Lafayette Parish. After punching Credeur in the face, Jacquneaux bit the 48-year-old victim in the face, “removing a large amount of flesh,” police reported.
An arrest warrant affidavit charges that Jacquneaux “began biting Mr. Credeur in the face, removing flesh the size of a quarter below the victim’s left eye.” A second affidavit accused Jacquneaux of “biting off half his cheek” and referenced “information” that Jacquneaux “had been up for several days on Meth.”
When officers responded to the fight scene, they found Credeur covered in blood and with “several lacerations to his facial area along with a gaping wound underneath the left eye.” Credeur, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment, is now recuperating at home.

Canadian Suspect in cannibal/body-parts case arrested in Germany
REPORT: A Canadian man who is accused of dismembering his murder victim and mailing body parts to political parties has been arrested in Germany, police confirm to CP24.
Stefan Rieldich, an English-speaking spokesperson for the Berlin police department, told CP24 that they were "positive" they had suspect Luka Rocco Magnotta in custody.
"We arrested him today," he said.
Police said Magnotta was arrested at around 2 p.m. local time near an Internet cafe. An officer checked his identification and made the arrest.
Rieldich said he couldn't confirm whether Magnotta was arrested inside or outside the cafe.
He said he also didn't know if Magnotta resisted arrest or if he gave his name willingly to officers.
"The information is brand new and I'm still trying to get more details on the arrest," he said. "As far as I know is that somebody recognized him and called police or that police recognized him."

It was different in New Jersey, where a man stabbed himself 50 times and threw bits of his own intestines at police. They pepper-sprayed him, but he was not easily subdued.
He was, people started saying, acting like a zombie. And the whole discussion just kept growing, becoming a topic that the Internet couldn't seem to stop talking about.
The actual incidents are horrifying — and, if how people are talking about them is any indication, fascinating. In an America where zombie imagery is used to peddle everything from tools and weapons to garden gnomes, they all but beg the comparison.
Violence, we're used to. Cannibalism and people who should fall down but don't? That feels like something else entirely.

REPORT: Police in Canada believe porn star Luka Rocco Magnotta, the man wanted in a case where a severed foot was mailed to the Conservative Party headquarters, might have fled North America.
Montreal Police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere said Thursday that police believe Magnotta fled based on evidence they found at his apartment, and based on a blog Magnotta once wrote about how to disappear.
Magnotta has been added to Interpol's wanted person's list.
Lafreniere says police have been trying to take down an online video that they believe shows Magnotta committing the murder.
Magnotta, believed to originally be from Toronto, was renting an apartment in a working-class Montreal neighborhood. It was behind that building that police found a man's torso in a suitcase in a heap of garbage Tuesday, police said.

THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS EMINENT: Morgan Student Admits To Eating Missing Joppatowne Man’s Dismembered Body Parts « CBS Baltimore
REPORT: A Morgan State University student who lived in the same home as a missing Joppatowne man now feared dead was charged with first-degree murder after parts of a human body were found inside the house and in a nearby dumpster. Now the suspect has admitted to eating portions of the man’s body parts, including his heart and brain.
Alexander Kinyua, 21, is being held on no bail.
Police served a search warrant Wednesday morning at the home of that missing man and made a gruesome find. Parts of a human body were found at the home along Terrapin Terrace in Joppatowne.
Police say the brother of the suspect went down to the laundry room of the house and saw a blanket on a box. He pulled off the blanket and saw two metal tins. Police say he opened them and saw a head and two hands.

As the story quickly went viral across the Internet, some have likened the attack to one by a zombie. Details of the unthinkable attack included police reporting that when they ordered the cannibal to stop, he looked up with blood on his face and growled at officers.
The suspected cannibal has been identified by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s officer as 31-year-old Rudy Eugene. Eugene may have been homeless at the time of the attack, his last known address was in North Miami.

REPORT: It was a scene as creepy as a Hannibal Lecter movie.
One man was shot to death by Miami police, and another man is fighting for his life after he was attacked, and his face allegedly half eaten, by a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp Saturday, police said.
The horror began about 2 p.m. when a series of gunshots were heard on the ramp, which is along NE 13th Street, just south of The Miami Herald building.
According to police sources, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing on another man's face and shouted on his loud speaker for him to back away. Meanwhile, a woman also saw the incident and flagged down a police officer who was in the area.
