Bobby Jindal at a Thursday morning news conference, comes after Tangipahoa Parish President Gordon Burgess called for a mandatory evacuation for areas along the Tangipahoa River from Kentwood through Robert, an area that would affect between 50,000 and60,000 people. Residents within a mile of the river were asked to evacuate.
