Proposition 30 will appear on the November, 2012, in California.
Prop 30, if passed, will:
- Raises sales and income taxes on ALL Californians as much as $50 billion dollars over the next seven years
- Doesn’t guarantee ANY new funding for schools
- Destroys small business and kills jobs
- Includes NO reform
The California State University Board approved a "what if" initiative that will increase tuition on students by 5%. The measure was approved in a meeting in Long Beach last Wednesday. Among the approved hiked fees is a 7% unit increase to non-residents. At the same time, CSU Trustees want to increase the contributions to their employee healthcare. All this will "take effect" if Prop 30 doesn't pass. Yet, Prop 30 if passed, affects everyone!
Every year there's a new school budget increase, more funding initiative, higher tax proposals but never are the school systems and teachers unions held accountable for how the money is spent and where it goes! Why are the issues the same over all the years that money has been poured into the education system? Why are bad teachers on tenure? Why does the school board protect teachers that molest their students?
The losers are the students and the people of California. Too long have we been held hostage by the Teachers. Don't let them hold us hostage again. We need true reform. Hold the teachers union and school board accountable! Don't give them another penny for their greedy lifestyles!
VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 30!
